The Driver Training Unit of the Ballarat District Four Wheel Drive Club runs regular Driver Proficiency courses throughout the year.    Courses are run by experienced Driver Trainers and are accredited instructors with Four Wheel Drive Victoria and held at the clubs Smythesdale Complex.

Club training courses are held over 1 evening of theory and 1 full day which includes practice on the specialised obstacles at the Smythesdale Complex and then a tour through the local forests. The course covers recovery equipment, safety equipment, preparation of vehicles and special driving techniques for all types of 4wd vehicles and activities.

Training is available to all members of the Ballarat District Four Wheel Driving Club and covered within the membership fees.  Our training track facility is available for hire and details can be found on our Track Hire page under FAQs menu option.
